The 440 is the ‘running optional’ run club that’s taken Perth by storm. Part of the global 440 network, the Cottesloe chapter has been gathering at Indigo Oscar every Saturday morning since 2019. What makes 440 special is its complete lack of pressure – you can walk, jog, or run, and no one cares about your pace or distance. The community prioritises connection over competition, making it the perfect entry point for those intimidated by traditional run clubs. The format is simple: meet at 5:55am (the ‘440’ stands for 4 minutes to 6), move for about 15 minutes out and 15 minutes back along the stunning Cottesloe coastline, then gather for an ocean swim and coffee. You can join for the run, the swim, the sip, or any combination – all are welcome.
